Cabragh Lodge is set in a quiet, rural and scenic location on the Ox Mountains, overlooking the rolling countryside below with Kesh Mountain and Knocknashee in the distance. It is a peaceful place to sit on your private balcony, take in the wide views and enjoy the beauty and abundance of the surrounding wild nature.
The centre is just 5 km from the village of Coolaney, with a variety of beautiful walks to explore in the nearby hills, mountains and peat bogs, offering many opportunities to connect with nature at your own pace.
Cabragh Lodge Retreat Centre follows a gentle vegetarian ethos, and we kindly ask that no meat is consumed or brought onto the grounds. The centre is also a non-smoking space. We are grateful to our guests for supporting and respecting these shared values, helping to maintain the calm and nurturing environment for all who stay here.
Nestled in the natural surroundings of the retreat centre, our four beautifully crafted, eco-friendly passive-design lodges offer peaceful accommodation in a truly restorative setting. Thoughtfully built for comfort and sustainability, each self-contained two-bedroom lodge has central heating, ensuring a warm and cosy stay throughout the year.
While designed with the environment in mind, the lodges also provide all the comforts of modern living, including fully equipped ensuite bathrooms with flush toilets, showers and washbasins.
Each lodge accommodates up to four guests, with a maximum of 16 guests across all lodges, helping to maintain a calm and uncrowded atmosphere across the retreat grounds.
Bedrooms can be arranged to suit your needs, with either a double or twin beds available. High-quality sheets, towels and cosy duvets are provided, along with thoughtful touches such as hairdryers, an iron and ironing board to support a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Every lodge includes a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with crockery, cutlery and glassware. For those attending residential retreats where meals are provided, this offers a welcoming space to prepare a drink and unwind. For guests joining a self-catering digital detox stay, the lodges provide everything needed for a simple and comfortable time away.
Each lodge also opens onto a private outdoor balcony with patio furniture — the perfect place to sit quietly and take in the surrounding nature and expansive views.

For a Bus from Dublin Airport to Cooloney you need to catch Route 23 (final destination Sligo) with Bus Eireann. Outside the terminal go to zone 13, bus stop 9. You can book in advance here It takes just over three hours and costs about €16.10
If you prefer to travel from Dublin to Cooloney by train, first catch line 784 bus outside the terminal to Dublin Connelly Train Station. It takes about 30-minutes and costs €8. Then catch an Irish Rail train to Cooloney it takes about three hours and an open return ticket is approximately €43.35.
For a bus from Ireland West Airport (Knock) to Cooloney you need to catch Expressway Route 64 with Bus Eireann. Approximate cost is €12.00 and takes around 45-minutes.
